As a Mechanic Apprentice at our Romulus location, you will train hands‑on to become a Retrofit Technician, learning how to take vehicles from a non‑saleable condition to being safely road‑ready. This role offers structured training, real‑world experience, and a clear path into a skilled technician career within the automotive industry.

What You’ll LearnPerforming basic to mild automotive repairs and corrections.
Diagnosing vehicles and completing engineering‑directed repairs.
Removing, replacing, and installing vehicle components.
Programming vehicle modules using computer‑based systems.
Proper use of shop equipment (hoists, jacks, specialty tools).
Safe handling of automotive fluids and components.
Shop safety standards and quality expectations.
Core mechanical and diagnostic skills are transferable across the automotive industry.
What We’re Looking ForStrong interest in automotive or hands‑on mechanical work.
Mechanically inclined with a desire to learn and grow.
Reliable, safety‑focused, and team‑oriented.
Self‑starter with strong time management skills.
Customer‑service mindset and strong communication skills.
Comfortable using computers for basic diagnostics and programming.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Must have basic hand and power tools.
Valid driver’s license with an adequate driving record.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must meet company background check and drug screen requirements.
Working Conditions & Physical DemandsApproximately 45% standing.
Approximately 30% sitting.
Approximately 25% walking, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and working in confined spaces.
