Position: Logistics Manager (Maternity Cover)

LeMieux is the UK’s fastest-growing equestrian and lifestyle brand, with a global community and big ambitions. Our success is driven by talented people who share our passion for innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Manager to join us on a maternity cover, overseeing day‑to‑day outbound logistics for a fast-moving retail and wholesale equine brand. This role combines logistics leadership with hands‑on operational crossover, ensuring efficient order fulfilment, optimised packaging, accurate systems management, and full compliance with customs and trade regulations.

The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally with warehouse operations, customer service, and external partners to deliver a reliable, cost‑effective, and high‑performing logistics operation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day outbound shipments across retail and wholesale channels, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and dispatched on time.
  • Work closely with warehouse operations to support order fulfilment activities, including picking, packing, and dispatch planning during peak periods.
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to monitor packing progress and proactively arrange courier collections.
  • Manage courier relationships, including booking collections, monitoring performance, resolving service issues, and supporting rate and service reviews.
  • Drive packaging optimisation initiatives to reduce costs, improve shipment efficiency, minimise damage, and support sustainability objectives.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, export documentation, and transport paperwork.
  • Track shipments and maintain accurate, real‑time updates within ERP, WMS, and shipping platforms to ensure full visibility of all consignments.
  • Own and maintain commodity (HS) code classification for all products, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems and shipping documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with customs, import/export, and trade regulations, including duty, VAT, Incoterms, and country‑specific requirements.
  • Support customs clearance processes, working closely with freight forwarders and customs brokers to resolve clearance issues efficiently.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on logistics KPIs and SLAs, using system data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with customer service teams to professionally manage delivery discrepancies, transport delays, or customs‑related issues.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations, systems workflows, order fulfilment processes, and carrier integrations.
Qualifications
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills within a fast‑paced retail and wholesale environment.
  • Proven ability to operate across logistics and warehouse operations, supporting order fulfilment and dispatch activities when required.
  • High attention to detail, particularly in data integrity, packaging accuracy, documentation, and customs compliance.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse teams, customer service, couriers, and external partners.
  • Proactive problem‑solver with a hands‑on approach to resolving operational, delivery, and system‑related challenges.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and shipping platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with confidence in reporting, analysis, and data accuracy.
  • Proven experience managing commodity codes, customs documentation, and import/export compliance.
  • Experience in a fast‑moving retail or wholesale operation is highly desirable.
