Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and implement digital logic circuits using FPGA technologies.
• Develop, refine, and optimise real-time DSP algorithms, including FIR/IIR filters, FFTs, and demodulation techniques.
• Create and manage high-speed digital interfaces such as ADCs, DACs, and PCIe connections.
• Collaborate closely with embedded software, PCB design, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Utilise test and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers to validate hardware performance.
• Troubleshoot and debug FPGA and DSP hardware and firmware in the lab environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog.
• Practical knowledge of DSP algorithm development and optimisation.
• Strong proficiency in simulation and synthesis tools.
• Competence in programming languages such as MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, or Python.
• Understanding of digital communication systems, RF principles, and interface standards.
• Ability to interpret and debug complex digital hardware and firmware.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience with hardware interfacing for high-speed data transfer.
• Knowledge of embedded processor integration.
• Familiarity with security clearance processes and requirements.
• Prior exposure to defence or aerospace projects.
