We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Anesthetic practitioner with a recognised post graduate anesthetic nursing qualification or ODP qualification to join our dynamic anesthetic team at Queens Hospital BHRUT. You must have extensive anesthetic experience in various specialties in the perioperative field to become the successful candidate. This is a permanent post in Main Theatres.
The department operates 24/7 365 days a year including bank holidays.
We have 16 operating theatres with various specialities including Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT, Trauma, Gynaecology, Maxillo Facial, Pain and Obstetrics and work across two sites Queens Hospital and King Georges Hospital. You will be committed to clinical excellence, with effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You should have a flexible approach to working hours.

Main duties of the jobTo provide integrated clinical leadership to a team of Anesthetic Practitioners nurses within the department in order to care for patients in the Operating Theatre environment to the highest possible standard and to develop practice with support from the Anesthetic Team Leader.
To assume responsibility for the operational management of staff and resources in the absence of the Team Leader, taking a lead in a specific aspect of operational management in the Theatre setting.
To act as a role model and create an environment that promotes excellence in Theatre practice and empowers staff to develop high levels of clinical skills and autonomy.
