Position: Band 7 Highly Specialised Physiotherapist in Orthopaedics (Part time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self‑motivated Physiotherapist to join our team of Orthopaedic Therapists and assistants providing rehabilitation to orthopaedic patients. This post will be primarily based in the trauma service at Queens Hospital but may include some cross‑site working at King George's in the elective service. This post offers a rewarding opportunity for someone looking to consolidate their experience in Orthopaedics and develop their team leadership skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional leadership to the Therapy teams at both sites, developing systems to support team efficiency in line with national guidelines and monitoring quality and provision of exceptional Physiotherapy assessment and care.
  • Participate in the 7‑day service.
  • Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients within your area of specialty, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries.
  • Give highly specialist guidance to other members of the MDT on matters relating to your specialist area.
  • Lead the Physiotherapy team, in conjunction with the Therapy Lead, in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy service provided to patients within your specialist area on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Provide a lead role in teaching and supporting colleagues in matters relating to the specialist area.
  • Participate in the training of undergraduate Physiotherapists.
  • Deputise in the absence of senior colleagues as required.
  • Contribute to the day‑to‑day running and development of the service through promotion, adaptation and development of policies, procedures and guidelines using evidence‑based practice and current research.
Qualifications

Successful candidates must have a relevant clinical background and the ability to integrate well into a multidisciplinary working environment, and they should be self‑motivated and eager to consolidate their Orthopaedic experience while developing team leadership capabilities.
