Location: Havering-Atte-Bower

We are looking for an enthusiastic Year 6 class teacher to join Gidea Park Preparatory School and Nursery. The role is full‑time, maternity cover, starting in April 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and assess high quality teaching and learning for Year 6 pupils.
  • Prepare and deliver inspiring lessons that take into account pupils’ individual needs.
  • Support pupils in preparation for their 11+ examinations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, the English Coordinator and the wider school community.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Recent teaching experience in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6.
  • Strong subject knowledge of the national curriculum and Year 6 teaching strategies.
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to inspire pupils with enthusiasm and a love of learning.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and a commitment to professional development.
