Salary: £35,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our clients team based in Romford. This role is responsible for reviewing project enquiries, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the commercial team in securing new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure enquiries are assessed effectively and quotations are prepared to a high standard. This is a varied role within a busy construction environment and offers opportunities for ongoing development and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review incoming enquiries and tender documentation.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications and carry out quantity take-offs where required.
  • Mark up drawings and supporting documentation to assist with pricing.
  • Prepare cost estimates for a variety of construction-related works.
  • Use company estimating systems and internal procedures to compile quotations.
  • Conduct site visits when required to better understand project scope and requirements.
  • Complete and submit tender returns in line with client requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Communicate company standards and service expectations during the tender process.
  • Attend supply chain meetings, networking events, and industry engagements when required.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an estimating role within the construction or fire industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple enquiries and work to deadlines.
  • Experience with in fire protection or fire safety related construction works.
