We have an exciting opportunity for a Reception administrator with GP admin/GP reception experience to joinour friendly Practice team in Romford/Chadwell Heath. Please only apply if you have a minimum of one year NHS General Practice administration/ reception experience.
North Street Medical Care is a high achieving surgery with over 21,500 patients over two sites;
North Street Practice and at the Chadwell Heath Health Centre in Ashton Gardens. The candidate may be required to work at bothsites as requested, or any other site that NSMC will be running.
The Administrator we are looking for must have GP surgery administration / GP reception experience, good communication skills, attention to detail, a 'can-do' attitude and is able to deal with bothpatients and surgery staff face to face and over the telephone in aprofessional manner.
The role is for 25 / 30 hours per week Monday to Friday from 8 am till 1 pm / 2 pm.
The candidate will undertake a wide range of duties & the provision of general support to the team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information & assisting patients as required. A central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Mainduties of the job
- A good working experience with EMIS web is desirable.
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system.
- Manage Minor Surgery appointments and waiting lists, re-book patients if a clinician is on sick leave.
- Registering patients for proxy access
- Warning messages to patients who DNA appointments
- Assist with recalling patients for health checks
- Support the Reception Manager with general administrative tasks as required
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
- Signpost patients to the correct service
- Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
- Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
- Book transport and interpreter
- Taking payment from patients using Sumup payment card reader and petty cash
Our clinical team includes, GPs, Nurse practitioner, Nurses, HCAs, PA, Pharmacists and Paramedics. We are a training practice. We operate over two sites, which is at North Street, Ashton Gardens and Raphaels House.
