Loader (Sit-down Forklift) 1st Shift (M-F)
Schedule:
1st Shift Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $18/HR
Job Purpose:
To operate sit‑down forklifts safely and efficiently, handle inbound and outbound freight, maintain orderly warehouse storage, and provide material handling support for shipping and receiving activities.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with efficient warehouse operations.
- Operate sit‑down forklifts and/or EPJs.
- Use handheld RF equipment to record and verify shipments.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and outside carriers safely following proper procedures.
- Work 10‑ to 12‑hour shifts when required and manage any height‑related tasks.
- Pick, move, and store stock ranging from 1 lb to 50 lb.
- Ensure shipments are staged correctly and documentation is complete.
- Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
- Process outbound cross‑dock freight as needed.
- Operate forklifts safely, observe OSHA regulations, and adhere to RJW safety policies.
- Perform daily forklift maintenance inspections and keep safety gear in place.
- Inspect deliveries for packing, condition, and damage; report issues to the supervisor.
- Report accidents or incidents to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
- Organize trailers to streamline yard flow and keep dock doors accessible.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Work efficiently with limited supervision; demonstrate a sense of urgency and accountability.
- Read, write, and understand English.
- Pay attention to detail and maintain quality standards.
- Communicate clearly, resolve problems, and interact with staff.
- Be flexible for overtime and provide coverage for other shifts.
- Possess PC and RF equipment knowledge; prefer strong experience with sit‑down forklifts, pallet jacks, and cross‑docking.
- 3–6 months forklift driving experience in a warehouse, operating sit‑down forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Stable work record.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Warehousing certifications are a plus.
