Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.

Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Material Handler in Romeoville, Illinois.

• Hourly Pay: $23.00 per hour
• Shift premium: $0.75 per hour
• Schedule:
  
  Sunday – Tuesday 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM;
  Wednesday 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Carry out duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and truck loading/unloading.
• Manage day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Team player and work well in diverse environment.
• Professional relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with good attendance.
• Initiative and high level of accuracy even under pressure.
• Physical: lift, push/pull up to 35 lbs; stand for long periods.
• Safety methods compliance.
• Available for flexible shifts.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
