Location: Romeoville, IL — Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Duration: Contract-to-Hire

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AS/400 RPG Developer with strong Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) expertise to support and enhance mission‑critical warehouse and distribution operations. This role focuses on production support, performance optimization, and system integrations within a high‑volume distribution environment.

Your background in WMS, distribution center operations, and AS/400 modernization makes this an excellent fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPGLE / RPG-IV / SQLRPGLE / CLLE
• Provide production support
  , troubleshooting, and debugging for warehouse systems
• Optimize performance for high‑volume warehouse and distribution operations
• Support shipping, receiving, inventory management, and FTZ (Foreign Trade Zone) processes
• Collaborate with operations and IT teams to improve system reliability and efficiency
• Assist with modernization and integration initiatives within the AS/400 environment

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands‑on experience with:
• RPGLE / RPG-IV / SQLRPGLE
• CLLE
• DB2/400
• Proven experience supporting WMS environments
• Strong debugging and production support capabilities
• Performance tuning experience in warehouse or distribution systems

Preferred Experience

• Integration with:
• EDI
• MQ
• Manhattan
• MAPICS
• Experience in distribution centers or logistics‑heavy environments
• Exposure to AS/400 modernization initiatives
