The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical and automation systems that support manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to deploy reliable control solutions, support capital projects, and ensure systems meet safety, quality, and operational standards across the Romeoville facility.
Why do we need you?- Design, program, and maintain PLC and HMI systems for existing and new equipment
- Support automation initiatives and system integration across the plant
- Contribute to capital projects, including scope definition, budgeting, and execution
- Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Ensure electrical systems comply with technical specifications, codes, and safety standards
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and optimize installed systems to improve performance and reliability
- Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering preferred
- Other Bachelor’s in Engineering considered with considerable controls/electrical experience
- Strong expertise in PLC and HMI programming and industrial automation systems
- Proficiency with Allen Bradley platforms (RSLogix, Studio 5000, Factory Talk View)
- Working knowledge of industrial communication networks
- Experience supporting manufacturing environments and capital projects
- Ability to read and develop electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Salary Range: $81,900 - $141,335
The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment.
