The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a part‑time School Psychologist position for the school year.
JOB SUMMARYThe psychologist reports to the Building Principal and the Director of Special Education and works cooperatively with school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs. Conducts and reports on assessment results for students during entitlement and re‑evaluation processes, supports instruction by working with students in a counseling manner, and applies knowledge regarding problem‑solving, curriculum‑based measures, and response to intervention.
QUALIFICATIONS- Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with a School Psychologist (PK‑21) endorsement
- Excellent communication skills with students, teachers, parents, and SRT, and willingness to assure that such communication takes place
- Satisfactory special education psychologist experience
- Experience in group counseling, peer mediation, parent training, behavior management/intervention strategies (strongly desired)
- Additional duties may from time to time be assigned in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies and requirements
Salary is in accordance with the teacher salary schedule and the District offers health, dental, and life insurance.
