MATERIAL PLANNING MANAGER Supervise material planning and related procurement activities, to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of company targets. The role ensures that Plant’s Material Planning, Logistics and Custom Processes, both inbound and outbound flows, are handled efficiently, effectively, and in a long‑term sustainable manner within budget constraints.
Responsibilities:
Regularly review long- and short-term planning strategies related to raw materials and semi-finished goods.
Measure KPIs and analyze root causes of deviations.
Develop RCCP (Rough-Cut Capacity Planning) by collecting data from Demand Planning and the ERP system.
Revise inventory levels and its parameters to minimize any stock levels and maintain the level of service given
Implement processes, procedures, and policies to ensure effective results in inbound/outbound transport and customs clearance
Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team (Material Planning and Outbound Logistic offices)
Manage relationships with customs agencies and external freight service providers
Oversee personnel activities, schedules, shipment coordination, and routing
Search for efficient and cost-effective shipping methods and negotiates related contracts
Support the implementation of integrated management systems and certifications and contribute to improvement activities.
Requirements:
Fluency in English and Italian University degree in Statistics, Economics, Management, or Business Administration3+ years of experience in the Material Management department within FMCG companies or in global companies3+ years of experience managing customs processes, import/export procedures and custom tariff combined nomenclature
Lean production methodologies (Six Sigma)
Analytical tools (Excel, Access)
Planning techniques (MTS, ATO, MTO, Kanban, etc.)Subcontractor management
Process analysis and mapping
Quality standards (ISO 9000 family, GMP, IFS/BRC, etc.)IT tools (MS Office, SAP R/3 – QM module)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Team‑oriented attitude and leadership skills
Problem‑solving mindset
