Exterior and Interior Designer (Junior/Senior/Chief Level)

BYD Milan Design Studio is seeking Junior/Senior/Chief Automotive Designer for our multinational team. This role focuses on automotive styling creation (covering exterior and interior) and concept innovation. We welcome talents at all career stages to co-build BYD's global styling language.

General Requirements (All levels):

Fluent in English (written and spoken);
Bachelor's or higher degree in Automotive/Transportation/Industrial/Interior Design;
Mandatory professional automotive design portfolio;
Passion for automotive innovation and European design trends;
Ability to work in a muticultural international team.

Level-specific Focus & Responsibilities:
Junior Level    
-Core focus:
Creative thinking + design proposal delivery;

- Skills:

Basic intermediate sketching & digital rendering;
Strong learning agility;

-Responsibilities:
Complete design tasks under senior guidance;
Learn automotive design processes and feasibility principles.

Senior Level    
-Core focus:
Independent project delivery + junior team guidance;

- Skills:

Proven automotive exterior/interior styling experience;
Excellent independent design and problem-solving ability;
Proficient in using various design software and tools for proposal delivery, with hands-on experience and control over digital and physical models.

-Responsibilities:
Independently delivery end-to-end styling solutions;
Eusure design feasibility with engineering teams;
Lead project-specific trend research;
Guide juniors and participate in design reviews.

Chief Level    
-Core focus:
Team building & management + global styling strategy & coordination;

- Skills:

Extensive automotive styling leadership experience (luxury/flagship preferred);
Proven team building, talent development & design management capabilities;
Global design vision & strategic trend insight;

-Responsibilities: lead the studio's exterior/interior styling strategy and creative direction;
Build & manage an international high-performing styling team;
Drive innovation in BYD's styling language;
Coordinate with global design/engineering teams for design realization.
