- Food Preparation & Culinary Excellence Prepare daily meals and snacks in alignment with approved menus, nutrition guidelines, and resident‑specific diets (including allergies and medical restrictions).
- Present meals in an appealing, restaurant‑style way that enhances appetite and dignity.
- Ensure meals are served on schedule and with care—hot food hot, cold food cold.
- Provide for individual needs by supporting independence with adaptive utensils or portion changes.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of food for special events or themed meals.
- Inventory, Sanitation & Kitchen Management Monitor food and supply inventory; report needs to the Food Service Director.
- Assist with receiving and rotating stock, ensuring first‑in/first‑out storage.
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant kitchen and food storage areas.
- Promptly report equipment or safety issues to leadership.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
- Resident Engagement & Teamwork Engage with residents to receive feedback and foster a sense of hospitality.
- Coordinate with care staff to ensure special dietary instructions are followed.
- Support a collaborative kitchen and dining team environment.
- Assist other food service team members as needed, including light cleaning or service tasks.
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting preferred.
- A genuine respect and compassion for older adults.
- Ability to follow recipes, dietary guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Serv Safe certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to stand, lift, and carry in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
