Job Description

$10,000 Sign on Bonus for eligible candidates

Schedule - 7a-7p - n3x12hr shifts + rotating weekends

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments through observation, interviews, and physical examinations to gather patient history and vital signs, identifying physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment data, setting SMART goals in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely, including oral, intravenous, and intramuscular forms, and perform necessary medical procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and IV therapy, ensuring accurate and safe execution.
  • Provide patient and family education about health conditions, treatments, and self-care practices, developing and delivering tailored educational materials and programs, and offering discharge instructions and follow-up care plans.
  • Advocate for patient health and safety by acting as a liaison between patients and the healthcare system, protecting patient rights and confidentiality, and securing necessary resources to improve patient outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Administers all types of medications correctly per age group for all populations served according to policy.
  • Demonstrates proficient technical skills and operational knowledge of all equipment used on the unit.
  • Performs daily rotational task assignment as directed.
  • Supervises Nursing Assistants in basic nursing functions and demonstrates safe patient ambulation, transfers, turning, and repositioning for bedfast and incontinent patients every two hours, respecting patient’s cultural needs.
  • Serves as a preceptor as necessary.
  • Communication/Collaboration.
  • Gather data/assess/reassess all populations served and complete hard copy care plans for each chart.
  • Documents/communicates patient data clearly, initiates and implements physician orders promptly and accurately, and collaborates with the healthcare team under HIPAA and confidentiality policy.
  • Collaborates on Care Plan input and prioritizes planning and implementing patient care with consideration of psychosocial/cultural factors.
  • Recognizes emergency codes, infection control, life safety, and age-specific safety concerns; implements measures in collaboration with the RN; supervises nursing assistant staff during events.
  • Understands the Computerized Physician Order Entry Process and uses the electronic medical record for retrieval of patient information.
  • Monitors the EMR for new orders and diagnostic results.
  • Provides education to the patient and family from admission through discharge, including plan of care, medications, tests and procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions; initiates referrals as necessary.
  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written).
Qualifications Education
  • Associate s of Nursing Required
  • Bachelor s of Nursing Preferred
Work Experience
  • 1+ year of prior hospital/acute care nursing experience preferred
  • RN experience required
Licenses And Certifications
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) Required
  • Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) Preferred
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) Preferred
  • Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) Preferred
  • Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) Preferred
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM) Preferred
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) Preferred
  • Neonatal Medical Certification (NEONATAL MED) Preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
  • Oncology Nurse Society (ONS) Preferred
  • Low Risk Neonatal Nursing (RNCLRN) Preferred
  • Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNCMNN) Preferred
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNCNIC) Preferred
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification Preferred
