Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS certification for a day shift assignment at a major teaching hospital.
Responsibilities- Position is based in a hospital with a Level 2 Trauma designation and teaching environment
- Three dedicated echo rooms in an outpatient area, with an average daily caseload of 10-25 patients
- Serves primarily adult inpatients and outpatients, with occasional pediatric cases
- Diagnoses include CHF, valve disorders, pre/post-surgical and pre/post-catheterization assessments
- No open-heart procedures are performed
- Standard and advanced echocardiography procedures performed, including strain imaging, 3D measurements, bubble studies, stress echoes, TEEs (some in OR), and Definity contrast
- Uses Phillips Echo equipment, PACS: ISCV (Phillips), and SIFCO for scope processing
- Epic EMR system is used and experience with Epic is preferred
- Schedule is 10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a rotating day off each week
- On-call required 1-2 nights per week (5:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and every 3rd-4th weekend, with a 30-minute response time
- Floating is not required
- Responsibilities include performing echocardiograms and advanced echo procedures for a diverse patient population
- Support is provided by a department team of 3-5 techs, a lead tech, onsite manager, and cardiologist during the day
- Orientation includes facility-specific and unit training
- Holiday coverage is less than 50% of holidays per contract, limited to scheduled inpatient echoes
- Black scrubs are required
- Free parking is available in a parking deck
- RTO requests must be approved by the manager
- Schedule is released about one month in advance
- ARDMS certification is required; CCI is not accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent echocardiography experience is required
- First-time travelers considered if they have 5+ years of Echo experience
- Must be proficient in standard echo skills, strain imaging, 3D measurements, bubble studies, stress echoes, TEEs, and Definity contrast
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- License required if applicable
