Schedule:

Mon-Fri 8a-5p. Status:
Full time. Pay Range: $18.50 - $27.75.

• Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice, following all policies and procedures, and maintaining training and competency.
• Perform rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings (depression, suicide, falls, social drivers of health, etc.).
• Assist provider with or perform procedures as ordered.
• Perform lab related duties including venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking. Conduct POCT per standing order/provider order and comply with CLIA standards.
• Administer medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
• Perform other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
• Be cross-trained to perform duties relevant to specialty or clinic practice within scope of the Medical Assistant.
• Demonstrate effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation.
• Maintain a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately, are in working order, and areas are stocked.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills for age‑specific patient care across the life span.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent (military training, EMT, etc.).

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment.

• No experience required.

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within scope after competency demonstrated.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, team members, and physicians.
• Proficient computer skills (keyboarding, Windows OS navigation, EMR usage).
• Customer service skills supporting positive patient experience.

• Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance; use equipment for heavier lifts.
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with fine‑hand manipulation.
• Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids; required to wear protective clothing.
• Operates all equipment necessary for the job.
