Job SummaryThis position serves as a key customer service representative for the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, ensuring a positive experience for students, families, and staff.
Responsibilities- Is responsible for understanding, support, and carrying out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
- Provides customer service support to the Student Services Hub for the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (One Stop Shop)
- Provides counseling and responds to inquiries from students, parents, or guardians about financial aid programs, application procedures, financial planning, and eligibility
- Assists students in resolving financial aid concerns
- Assists with FAFSAs and other processes as needed including checking Charger Portal, schedule bills, and other basic Financial Aid processes¿
- Assists with financial aid inquiries in person, via the GHC
411 Ticketing System, and through the Virtual HUB - Represents the financial aid office on the assigned campus and other campuses as needed
- Performs necessary clerical and processing duties within the office
- Performs other duties as assigned
High school diploma (or equivalent) and experience in an office setting or business-related customer service position
Preferred Qualifications- Associate degree from an accredited institution and one (1) year of experience in an office setting or business-related customer service position OR high school diploma/ equivalent and three (3) years of experience in an office setting or business-related customer service position
- Experience in Higher Education, a student success-related field, or student financial aid is a plus
$15.00 per hour,
up to 19 hours per week
Optional Documents to Attach- Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Institutional policies and procedures related to student financial aid
- Ability to apply institutional rules and federal and state financial aid regulations, necessitating judgment, selection, and interpretation in their application.
- Familiarity with program eligibility requirements.
- Proficiency in technology, including MS Office Suite, videoconferencing software (MS Teams), digital records management systems, and general data information systems.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
