Job SummaryThe purpose of this position is to increase awareness of the financial aid process for students and othersto facilitate financial aid packages which provide monetary assistance to students. The Assistant will facilitate and assist with the financial aid process. Additionally, the assistant will assist with walk-ins, phone calls, and the application process at the One Stop Shop Customer Service Desk. This position will communicate regularly with the work supervisor.
Responsibilities- Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
- Assists at the One Stop Shop customer service desk (McCorkle Building-Floyd Campus)
- Assists students and visitors with financial aid processes as needed (FAFSAs, Verifications, Scholarship applications, logging into Charger Portal, email, schedule bill, and other basic financial aid processes)
- Posts campus event flyers and advertisements
- Assists with document management including shredding, scanning, copying, and filing
- Participates in mandatory trainings
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Must be currently enrolled at Georgia Highlands College
- Must be Pell Grant eligible (FAFSA)
- Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Must have an unmet need based on total cost of attendance of student
$12.00 per hour, up to 19 hours per week
