Lead and oversee all financial operations and human resources functions within company. Responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory control, and payroll, while also managing HR responsibilities such as employee benefits, compliance, and sensitive personnel matters.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all accounting operations for the U.S. subsidiary and Canadian branch, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax compliance, and guarantee and monitor the reliability of individual balances reflected in the various accounts that make up the financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies.
- Oversee and manage inventory control (including semi and annual physical inventories), job costing, credit & collections, sales order processing, and invoicing.
- Coordinate and provide auditors (internal and external) with all required documentation and information to support audits and reviews.
- Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
- Prepare and file various states sales tax returns (Illinois, California); review and coordinate federal and state tax filings prepared by external (both US and Canada).
- Negotiate and administer general liability insurance, worker's compensation, and employee benefits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial and HR regulations.
- Running and generating payroll. Managing Health Insurance, HRA & 401 contributions.
- Serve as the company's HR manager, handling confidential employee matters in collaboration with legal counsel and senior leadership.
- Oversee HR documentation, benefits administration, and employment policy compliance.
- Liaise with attorneys and HQ on legal and personnel matters as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2 years of HR/general administrative.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, and budgeting principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (SAP) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Solid knowledge of U.S. tax filing requirements and experience managing multi‑state tax filings.
- Experience in inventory management, job costing, and manufacturing/distribution environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with HR laws and practices; experience managing benefits and compliance processes.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in international and multi‑site environments is a plus.
