Job DescriptionEpiq Solutions is seeking a full‑time Staff Product Test Engineer with at least eight years of hands‑on experience to join our team developing and testing Epiq's software‑defined radio (SDR) product line. The primary responsibility of this position is to design and implement automated test solutions for a range of board‑level and system‑level products developed by Epiq. Key tasks include developing hardware test harnesses, creating software for device testing and interfacing with electronic test equipment (such as RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies), and generating comprehensive test reports.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in new product introduction (NPI), having served as the lead Test Engineer responsible for guiding multiple products through all stages of development — from initial design and requirements definition to final production testing and ongoing support. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit robust software development abilities, with comprehensive experience in object‑oriented programming, data structures, multi‑threading, and multi‑processing.
The role requires close collaboration with both the engineering and production teams.
- Serve as the lead Test Engineer for a project, overseeing the implementation of all testing procedures and necessary fixturing to ensure a successful product launch.
- Work with engineering team to identify, implement, and document the required product test requirements to reach full production.
- Provide test engineering support and updates for in‑production products.
- Develop software libraries for controlling various electronic test equipment, including RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, temperature chambers, etc. via GPIB, serial, ethernet, or other standard interfaces.
- Architect, implement, and maintain automated test executable and supporting test infrastructure.
- Create documentation capturing test requirements and procedures.
- Generate test results, reports, and recommendations for review by both engineering and production teams.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Train production team on product test procedures.
- Support production team in resolving yield and build issues.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least eight years of substantial hands‑on experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), specifically developing automated test equipment (ATE) software used to test electronic products. Proficiency in one or more programming languages is required, with a preference for Python.
- Lead Test Engineer experience taking multiple projects through the NPI process from concept to full production.
- Strong programming skills in object‑oriented programming, data structures, multi‑threading, and multi‑processing.
- Basic understanding of RF concepts and measurement techniques.
- Able to read and interpret schematics, PCB layout, and assembly documents for electronic printed circuit boards.
- Comfortable working with engineering staff to develop test procedures and documentation.
- Able to design and construct test harnesses and fixtures for use in production testing.
- Experience using Linux and developing software applications that run on Linux‑based computer systems.
- Self‑starter with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Able to multitask between two or more projects.
- Advanced understanding of RF performance metrics, such as noise figures, spurious free dynamic range, image rejection, etc.
- RF testing experience at 18GHz and 40 GHz.
- Experience testing products that utilize high‑speed…
