Transform the everyday with us !Electrical Service Specialists are responsible for the instrumentation & controls on our power distribution equipment at our Hyper-Scale Data Center sites. Scope includes, but not limited to, setting communication devices and topology industrial networks, uploading HMI/ PLC programs, installation of I/O and CPUs, integration of 3 rd Party EPMS, initial testing, operation, troubleshooting and modification of customer equipment and systems including MV/LV switch gear, transformers, metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relays.
This position entails an initial training period that will necessitate travel. While this position primarily supports the Chicago metropolitan area, there will be periodic travel (up to 50%) as business needs require to support other branches or projects.
As an Electrical Service Specialist, you will:- Lead basic to complex installation and checkout of electric and electronic components for systems and service installed jobs and service agreements. Tasks are associated with maintenance and testingofswitchgear/switchboard, motor controls, circuit breakers, panel boards, transformers, and surge protection devices. Responsible for vibration analysis and metering, battery maintenance and testing, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance.
- Set communication devices and topology industrial networks; upload HMI/ PLC programs; install I/O and CPUs.
- Perform integration of 3rd Party EPMS; initial testing, operation, troubleshooting and modification of customer equipment and systems.
- Test MV or LV Circuit breakers; metal clad/vacuum switch gear; breakers or LV equipment and analyze test results.
- Conduct Equipment Condition Assessments.
- Troubleshoot and repair Electrical Control Circuits.
- Organize and maintain job documentation.
- Provide on-site assistance with or perform programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes. Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training. Act as technical resource to customers and field employees.
- Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections. Train customers to maintain and adjust complex equipment. Provide expert advice, training, and technical assistance to support staff and train lower-level employees. Complete and submit reports covering all job activity. Responsible for maintaining complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, etc.
- Plan and estimate labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, and transportation expenses to complete complex proposals. Perform review of complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics; provide continual guidance throughout the project duration.
- Must be available to respond to emergency and relief assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits and ability to obtain thermography certification
- 5+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of Power Automation Switchboards
- 5+ years of experience using electrical test sets to perform AC and DC high potential testing, transformer turns ratio testing, transformer power factor testing, and other power system test practices and procedures
