We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an Environmental Support Specialist. This position will be located in Rolla, MO.
SummaryThe Environmental Support Specialist supports environmental compliance activities related to manufacturing, customer support, and R&D operations. This position will review and implement domestic and international environmental and customer requirements for each component of manufacturing and R&D formulations.
Responsibilities- Collect and verify formulation data for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) preparation, including CAS numbers, concentration ranges, and residual monomer information, under supervision.
- Provide administrative and technical support to the environmental team by uploading documentation to regulatory databases and maintaining accurate, well-organized records.
- Support hazardous waste operations by collecting and staging waste in designated areas and generating regulatory compliance reports.
- Monitor, review, and update supplier SDS within internal databases to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare compliant shipping labels for routine domestic and international shipments to global offices.
- Coordinate and assist with external laboratory testing of materials, including sample preparation and documentation support.
- Track customer environmental and regulatory inquiries, providing initial support and escalating technical questions to appropriate subject matter experts as needed.
- Additional Duties as Environmental Support Specialist II:
- Manage SDS data collection and verification for routine products, including detailed review of chemical formulations, residual monomer percentages, and accurate CAS number assignments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management to ensure precise representation of product chemistry and hazard information in SDS documentation.
- Maintain organized records of customer environmental and regulatory information requests, providing timely, accurate, and data-driven responses.
- Coordinate the translation of SDSs into multiple languages to support global markets, maintaining strict language version control and documentation logs.
- Monitor shared inboxes and request queues to ensure prompt intake, tracking, and completion of regulatory and environmental requests.
- Manage external laboratory testing requests, including coordination, tracking, and documentation of results.
- Support the labeling team by processing label order requests, including generic relabeling and labels for international distribution.
- Assist with hazardous waste reporting and wastewater recycling program updates.
- Review and verify wastewater discharge requirements for non-headquarters facilities to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Complete wastewater questionnaires and permit applications as required by local and regional authorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or
- Associate’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years' experience; or
- Associate’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field; or
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, or related field; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
