Mobile Unit Dentist

Job Summary

The Mobile Unit Dentist will provide high‑quality dental care to children and adults in our service area. The role operates on our Mobile Dental Unit, delivering preventive and restorative services to children in local schools and group homes. When schools are not in session, the dentist will provide care to adult and pediatric patients at community locations or clinic sites.

• Provide comprehensive dental care, including exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, extractions, endodontic, fixed/removable, and restorative procedures.
• Educate patients, school staff, and caregivers on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
• Diagnose and develop treatment plans for pediatric and adult patients, referring to specialists as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with FQHC and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations within the mobile unit.
• Collaborate with school nurses, community health workers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care.
• Provide care to adults at community locations during school breaks and summer months.
• Work at clinic sites as needed to provide additional patient care.
• Participate in outreach events to promote oral health awareness in underserved communities.
• Supervise and mentor dental assistants and student rotations on the mobile unit.
• Assist in quality improvement initiatives to enhance dental services and patient outcomes.

• Graduate of an accredited dental school.
• Current dentist license in the State of Missouri.
• Current DEA and BNDD certificates.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and in mobile settings.
