Retail Associate

Base Pay Range
: $17.00 – $17.50 per hour

General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring that our customers have a positive shopping experience. The associate greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, maintains a clean work area at all times, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and is engaged in all assigned tasks throughout the day.

Essential Functions
  • Practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe shopping environment.
  • Keep the sales floor clutter‑free and maintain clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; recognize teammates using company recognition programs.
  • Assist customers, including register operations, merchandise assistance, and prompt responses to customer questions.
  • Respond immediately to customer service calls and handle all customer issues courteously.
  • Represent the company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company’s dress code.
  • Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor with urgency and follow company merchandise presentation guidelines.
  • Understand loss‑prevention programs, shortage identification, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Protect confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follow Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and handle all cash and credit transactions accurately.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
  • Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
  • Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.

Compensation Disclosure
Base pay range: $17.00 – $17.50 per hour. The range is based on experience, skill, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. Other rewards vary by position and location.
