Reporting to and under general supervision of the Housing Operations Manager, with additional lead work direction from members of the Facilities Management leadership team, the Supervising Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and functions of the Auto Shop and providing full service and support to the electric and gas-powered carts, utility vehicles, and equipment. The incumbent is responsible for project planning, coordination, maintenance, repair and modification of automotive, maintenance, landscape, agricultural and construction equipment, machinery and tools.
KeyQualifications
This position requires three or more years of experience as a journey-level automotive or equipment mechanic, including one to two years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, and Excel) required. Knowledge of Kawasaki Mules, Taylor Dunn utility/passenger carts, GEM utility/passenger carts, Golf carts - 2-4 seaters, Ez-Go, Club Car and Yamaha highly preferred.
Knowledge of Google Suite, a computerized work control system, and People Soft preferred. Demonstrated skills in an institutional/educational environment utilizing a customer-oriented and service-centered attitude preferred. The incumbent must successfully complete a pre-placement exam and must possess and maintain a California Driver's License valid for the operation of any vehicle or equipment required to maintain and operate.
Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $7,497 to $8,115 a month. This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.
