Account Manager - Landscaping (Maintenance)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and results‑driven, client & production‑facing Account Manager to join our landscaping business. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Account Manager will manage a portfolio of client accounts, build strong relationships, and drive customer satisfaction. The role directly oversees the production Crew Leaders and their teams, scheduling and coordinating job execution and ensuring landscaping services meet or exceed client expectations.
ResponsibilitiesSafety – Create a Zero‑Harm Work Environment
Ensure compliance with national, local, and organizational health and safety regulations and policies. Uphold, promote, and monitor the safety culture created by the Branch Manager, ensuring a safe working environment. Ensure proper PPE use through inspections, conduct safety meetings, and implement safety training programs. Investigate and report incidents or accidents, taking corrective actions toward a zero‑harm workplace.
Portfolio PerformanceManage a landscape maintenance book of business with $750,000–1,000,000 ACV. Handle the operational lifecycle of client contracts from onboarding through ongoing service and property improvements. Evaluate financial performance against estimates, problem‑solve irregularities, monitor ancillary project costs, and address accounts‑payable and billing disputes professionally and timely.
Customer Relationship ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, developing trust‑based relationships. Understand contract terms, client needs, and align services accordingly. Communicate proactively, holding regular meetings to provide updates, address concerns, and identify improvement areas. Seek feedback and take proactive measures to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Ancillary SalesMeet branch‑defined monthly and annual ancillary sales targets. Proactively identify and propose safety, functionality, and aesthetic ancillary sales such as enhancement, irrigation, and tree services. Estimate costs, create proposals, review and approve completed work and invoices, and stay updated on industry trends to provide valuable insights.
Job QualityUnderstand contract expectations and high‑priority areas. Train and coach the operational team, conduct site quality audits, and use findings to improve performance.
Contract Renewals & RetentionRetain desired clients by reaffirming experience, encouraging survey participation, responding to action items, and notifying branch leadership of challenges. Provide updates on corrective actions and assemble renewal packets with price increases as appropriate.
Production Team LeadershipPromote safety culture, provide leadership to 3–4 crews and supervisors, recruit, hire, train, and mentor staff. Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, conduct site inspections, and foster a positive, collaborative environment.
Operations & Labor Capacity ManagementEnsure efficient work completion, identify improvement areas, use time‑capture systems, schedule effectively, and reallocate resources to maximize capacity. Embrace continuous improvement, reduce waste, and implement broader process improvements.
Materials & Equipment ManagementGuarantee crews have necessary tools, equipment, and materials. Maintain accountability, conduct preventive maintenance, allocate resources to maximize efficiencies, and maintain accurate records.
Team CollaborationParticipate in branch operations and meetings, provide updates on initiatives, foster collaboration, promote teamwork, and effective communication.
