• Provides support as a member of the Bakery team to include receiving and preparing product, maintaining the Bakery area and displays, and selling product in support of WFM standards.
• Performs all functions related to breaking down deliveries and stocking shelves.
• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.
• Follow store Standard Operating Procedures and be prepared to perform duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions.
• Engage with customers on the floor, assist with on-floor service and operations as needed.
• Maintain fresh and appealing displays by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products.
• Stock and clean shelves, bins, and display areas; monitor spoilage and communicate waste to buyers and supervisors.
• Maintain back stock in good order and assist with sampling and periodic inventory checks.
• Arrive on time, groomed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and use appropriate suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximize sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising of product.
• Follow or ensure compliance with health, sanitation, weights and measures, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; ensure equipment is kept in safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

• Ability to sell proactively.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself with various products.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully to Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

• No prior retail experience required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
• Hand use: grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures below freezing to above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery.
• May require use of ladders.

New entry level Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base rate increase after the 90-day anniversary.
