Emergency Veterinarian (Per Diem) – Rogers, AR
VEG ER for Pets is seeking a per‑day Emergency Veterinarian to support our 24/7, 365‑day ER hospital in Rogers, AR. The role demands a passion for helping people and their pets, as well as the ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

THE JOBAs a per‑diem Emergency Veterinarian, you will be a frontline champion, handling routine to complex cases, performing surgeries, and engaging customers throughout the diagnostic and treatment process. You will also lead by example on the hospital floor, mentoring peers and embracing the culture of continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Answer medical questions over the phone
- See patients immediately as part of VEG Triage and VEG Spikes, our customer‑centered approach
- Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and complete physical exams
- Conduct investigations such as ultrasounds, X‑rays, bloodwork, and biopsies
- Diagnose and develop therapeutic plans for each patient
- Communicate diagnosis and options directly with customers
- Prepare estimates and present them to customers
- Maintain accurate medical records and demonstrate the value of tests and treatments
- Perform minor and major emergency surgeries
- Perform endoscopic procedures
- Educate customers on after‑care and preventive measures
- A DVM or equivalent degree
- Strong background in emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy
- Ability to work in team‑oriented environments and support a collaborative culture
- Physical stamina: stand for prolonged periods, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg alone (40 kg with assistance)
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as‑needed basis
