Find your calling at Mercy!The Trauma Coordinator is a registered nurse with responsibiliby for monitoring and evaluating nursing care of trauma patients, performance improvement and development of policies and procedures/protocols for the trauma program. Additionally, the Trauma Coordinator coordinates trauma continuing education for the trauma team and public education/outreach education. The Trauma Coordinator reports to the ED Director, is a member of the Trauma Committee and works closely with Trauma Quality Improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
Licensure:
Registered nurse with current license to practice in the current state of practice.
Experience:
Minimum of three years of trauma clinical experience in the Emergency Department
. Ability to use Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word and basic Excel.
Certifications:
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), instructor preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), instructor preferred Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), instructor preferred.
Other:
Individual must possess the ability to be self-directed and function autonomously. Must have strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills. Demonstrates the ability for problem solving, decision making and implementing change. Ability to work collaboratively in a self-directed work team environment and the ability to handle diverse responsibilities concurrently. Ability to teach and coordinate functions of the trauma team.
Preferred
Certifications:
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC).
Additional Requirements:
16 hours of Trauma CEU's/yearly
Completion of TOPIC course within 1 year of hire AIS Certification within 1 year of hire and maintain updates TNCC Instructor
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
