Platform Engineer – Manager
EY is building a better working world and invites talented professionals to join our Technology – Engineering & Systems Integration team as a Platform Engineer. This managerial role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining the foundational infrastructure and services that power EY’s applications worldwide.
Location: Anywhere in Country
Overview: As a Platform Engineer Manager, you will lead a small cross‑functional team of software engineers, Dev Ops, and data specialists to deliver scalable, secure, and developer‑friendly platforms. You will collaborate closely with EY’s global client teams to translate business requirements into robust platform solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring the final product meets their needs.
- Design and develop user interfaces and platform services that enhance user experience and meet business objectives.
- Write clean, maintainable code, create specifications, and implement best‑practice platform standards.
- Architect and maintain containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Azure cloud services (APIM, Front Door, Blob Storage).
- Develop and optimize data models and queries using Postgre
SQL, SQL Alchemy, and other ORM tools. - Champion test‑driven development (TDD) practices, unit, integration, and system testing.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using Keycloak, OAuth2, OIDC, and Azure Active Directory.
- Integrate message queuing, caching, and AI/LLM services for distributed systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance and reliability.
- Occasional contributions to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Travel as required to meet with external client stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 4–6 years of platform engineering or backend development experience.
- Deep proficiency in Python, FastAPI, microservices architecture, and API design.
- Hands‑on experience with containers, Kubernetes, Helm, and Azure Cloud services.
- Strong relational database background (Postgre
SQL) and familiarity with ORMs. - Proven experience with unit testing, integration testing, and TDD methodologies.
- Experience with secure service‑to‑service communication (mTLS, OAuth2, OIDC).
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and application development tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Building and evolving distributed systems at scale.
- Experience with API gateways, message queues, caches, and vector databases.
- Familiarity with identity and access management tools (Keycloak, Azure AD).
- Exposure to semantic search, LLMs, and vector‑based retrieval.
- Experience with Terraform, Git Hub Actions, or other IaC/CI‑CD tools.
- Strong problem‑solving, emotional agility, and collaborative mindset.
EY offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The base salary range for this role in the US is $142,600 to $261,500, with additional benefits including medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.
