Chief Financial Officer

Join Kiefer Sage as Chief Financial Officer and lead the company’s financial strategy.

The Chief Financial Officer will develop KS’s financial management strategy and contribute to the organization’s strategic goals. In addition to the strategic components, the CFO will develop and implement more sophisticated policies and procedures in the finance and general operational realms.

Essential Functions
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable a high‑performing accounting team, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Direct all aspects and activities of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting, as well as the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including daily inventory cycle counts, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits/reviews, and annual budgets.
  • Oversee the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing, commission and royalty calculation, and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components, including billings, cash receipts application, quarter and year‑end payroll closing, federal and state reports; sales and use tax registration, filing, and compliance; and check statistics management.
  • Maintain internal controls through appropriate separation of duties, process and permissions management, and checks and balances.
  • Work with the V.P. of Technology Solutions to develop processes for corporate customer invoicing and EDI requirements.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting, ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with GAAP, the Financial Reporting Framework for Small and Medium Enterprises (FRFSME), and other applicable standards.
  • Assist senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
  • Ensure corporate income tax compliance to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns, taking full advantage of favorable tax codes.
  • Respond to the CEO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
  • Participate in other finance and administration duties as required.
