Position Overview
Mundo-Tech is seeking a detail-oriented Laser Measurement & Scanning Technician to support precision manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for performing high-accuracy laser scanning and dimensional measurement of aerospace fixturing, tooling, and manufactured components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands‑on technical work, problem solving, and working closely with engineering, quality, and production teams in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laser scanning and 3D measurement of tooling, fixtures, and aerospace components
- Capture and analyze dimensional data using laser trackers, portable CMM arms, or structured-light scanners
- Compare scan data to CAD models and engineering drawings
- Generate inspection reports and measurement documentation
- Support fixture validation, first article inspections, and process improvement initiatives
- Assist engineering teams with reverse engineering and alignment verification
- Maintain calibration and proper care of metrology equipment
- Identify dimensional deviations and communicate findings to engineering and quality teams
- Follow all aerospace quality procedures and safety standards
- High school diploma or technical certification (manufacturing, metrology, machining, or related field)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Proficiency with measurement software and basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with CAD software (Solid Works, CATIA, NX, or similar)
- Knowledge of CMM inspection or 3D scanning workflows
- Understanding of tooling, fixturing, and machining processes
- Quality or metrology certifications are a plus
- Experience with laser measurement, metrology equipment, or precision inspection
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout production areas
- Lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
- Work around manufacturing equipment safely
