The Maintenance Technician Position will be responsible for performing advanced mechanical and entry-level electrical troubleshooting on production and facility equipment. This technician independently performs repairs, executes PMs, and supports continuous improvement projects.

Here’s more of what you’ll get to do:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical systems, including gearboxes, bearings, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting on motors, sensors, photo eyes, and control circuits (up to 480V).
  • Conduct intermediate-level PMs and Predictive Maintenance activities.
  • Complete assigned Standardized Work tasks.
  • Assist with installation, startup, and modification of production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and spare parts usage in CMMS.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and mentor Maintenance Technician I employees.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, LOTO, and plant safety programs.
What we require:
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience (food or manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, including multimeter use and reading electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with PLC inputs/outputs and basic control systems.
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, or machining.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs and sanitation requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Technical Trade Degree/Certification preferred.
Work Environment

Industrial bakery setting with exposure to:

  • Hot or cold temperatures
  • Allergens
  • High noise levels
  • Moving machinery
  • Wet or frozen surfaces
  • Cramped, confined work areas
  • May require night, weekend, or holiday work based on production schedules and emergency needs
General Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (8–12 hours per shift).
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and stooping to access equipment and confined spaces.
  • Regular reaching overhead, at shoulder height, and below waist level to service machinery.
  • Climbing ladders or platforms (up to 20 feet) as needed to access equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces may be required, such as under conveyors or inside equipment housings.
Lifting and Carrying
  • Frequent lifting of parts and tools up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment components up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional team lifting or use of mechanical aids for items over 75 pounds.
  • Ability to carry materials and tools across plant areas or upstairs.
Manual Dexterity and Motor Skills
  • Hand-eye coordination required for precision work such as wiring, calibrating instruments, or using hand tools.
  • Sufficient grip strength to use wrenches, drills, and other manual tools.
  • Fine motor skills to handle small parts, fasteners, and electrical connectors safely.
Sensory Requirements
  • Ability to identify signs of mechanical or electrical issues, including odors, smoke, or abnormal sounds.
Environmental Conditions
  • Work performed in hot, cold, humid, refrigerated, and frozen spaces.
  • Regular exposure to moderate to high industrial noise levels (hearing protection may be required).
