Position Summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) is recruiting a part‑time Nurse for the first shift (6:45 A.M. – 3:15 P.M.) at its Healthcare Center.

About DVA

For over 140 years DVA has cared for veterans and their dependents. The department operates the Office of Advocacy and Assistance, Residential Facility, Healthcare Center, and Cemetery and Burial Services. The Healthcare Center (HCC) in Rocky Hill offers 24‑hour care for veterans with chronic conditions, supported by highly trained staff who uphold integrity, honor, and respect.

Purpose of the Job Class (Nature of Work)

Examples of Duties

  • Implement nursing process with individuals; carry out physician orders regarding diet, medication, and treatment.
  • Perform assessments, change dressings, monitor quality of care through observation and evaluation.
