Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Deputy OCE CIPT Lead (all genders) - AENA Rocky Hill

Introduction

The Deputy CIPT Lead supports the CIPT Group Lead and provides leadership to a Component Integrated Product Team where MTU is design and manufacturing responsible in a risk-revenue sharing partnership. The Deputy CIPT Lead will support the OCE LPT for the PW2000 and PW4000 programs. The candidate is directly supervised by the NGPF/OCE LPT CIPT Group Lead and managed by the CIPT Manager.

In addition, the Deputy CIPT Lead receives direction and high-level exposure from MTU’s Chief Engineer, MTU Program representatives and PW Leadership (Chief Engineers, HSE leaders, etc.).

The Deputy CIPT Lead provides technical leadership for a module and supports implementation of the CIPT department strategy. This position is expected to drive complex technical tasks to completion, work closely with MTU Module Team Leads to provide aligned communication to the OEM, and maintain customer relationships. The Deputy CIPT Lead will delegate tasks and provide technical oversite to junior CIPT engineers, ensuring analyses are accurate and completed on time.

When a business need exists, the Deputy CIPT Lead may provide cross-program support.

The candidate will leverage an effective engineering network and drive tasks to completion alongside a global team of engineers from MTU AENA, Munich, and Poland, as well as from Pratt & Whitney.

Your Tasks
  • Identify when specific topics require consultation with additional resources from both partners, such as discipline experts and Chief Engineers, to ensure continued progress on tasks.
  • Provide an escalation path to junior engineers who may be challenged to drive action from their PW/MTU counterparts, stepping in to assist when required.
  • Challenge colleagues from MTU and PW regarding schedules, urgency, and task completion strategies to ensure that priorities are effectively identified and that solutions meet the needs of both organizations.
  • Recognize when it is necessary to elevate issues to the MTU Program representative if tasks become stagnant, and keep them informed about high-visibility tasks while alerting them to potential escalations from the PW Program so they can prepare an appropriate response.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills by maintaining close collaboration with MTLs, Chief Engineers, and MTU Program on all tasks, particularly those that are unforeseen or increasing in complexity to ensure alignment on priorities, schedules, and messaging to PW.
  • Support post-certification engineering activities for MTU-owned hardware.
  • Represent MTU engineering in PW Chief meetings, monthly program reviews, IPMT’s, MTU module team meetings, and MTU Chief alignment meetings.
  • Take ownership and independently lead complex tasks. Provide regular feedback to the CIPT Group Lead.
  • Provide mentorship and actively delegate tasks and provide guidance to junior CIPT members.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all flight safety investigations and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.
  • Lead field investigation and safety risk assessment activities for relevant fleet findings.
  • Present technical and program content in P&W leadership meetings and module reviews.
  • Support technical documents and negotiations.
  • Oversee and provide a stabilizing influence to interdisciplinary and intercompany integration activities. Lead cross-site OCE workshops to further strengthen collaboration between MTU AENA, Polska, and Munich and Pratt & Whitney.
  • Provide back-up engineering support to GP7000 and GTF LPT programs, if necessary.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related, relevant discipline. M.S. a plus.
  • 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in specified discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in a cross functional leadership role.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
  • Intercultural competence and experience working with Polish, American, and German teams preferred.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Financial acumen and impact awareness of decisions.
  • Technical Proficiency.
  • Desired start date:
    June 2026.
