We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Medical Billing Assistant to support our billing department in ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical claims and processing of patient accounts. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the practice and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility efficiently.
• Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely billing and collections.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance representatives.
• Stay updated on insurance policies and billing regulations.
• Support front office operations as needed to enhance patient experience.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims (electronic and paper) accurately and in a timely manner.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients.
• Review and correct claim errors or rejections (follow up with insurance carriers).
• Assist with posting payments (insurance and patient payments) into the billing system.
• Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing inquiries or disputes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient account records.
• Assist in preparing monthly billing reports and summaries.
• Support the billing team with general administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and data entry.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all billing regulations.

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or front office administration.
• Strong knowledge of insurance processes and billing software.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records (EHR).
• Compassionate demeanor with a passion for mental health care.
• Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in medical billing or healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office, preferably in billing or administrative support.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
  • Working knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., AAPC or AHIMA).
