Position: Lead Software Engineer - Analytics (Node.JS/Angular/AWS)
Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Lead Software Engineer - Analytics (Node/Angular/AWS) for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA .

Hybrid - 3x a week on-site
We're seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to strengthen our development practices and drive architectural excellence for our rapidly growing Market Oversight platform. This role requires someone who can immediately impact delivery quality while architecting for future scale.

Key Responsibilities:
Development Process Enhancement:
Strengthen code review processes, testing standards, and deployment practices to mitigate delivery risks
Modern Development Practices:
Champion AI-assisted development workflows while ensuring proper code review, testing, and security validation of AI-generated code
Technical Mentorship:
Pair with developers on complex implementations, serving as a technical guardrail
Architecture Ownership:
Collab/Design scalable solutions for current platform complexity and future growth
Data Layer Optimization:
Enhance Dynamo

DB query patterns, Athena performance, AWS Glue ETL processes, and caching strategies including Quick Sight SPICE optimization
UI/UX Leadership:
Drive frontend development best practices and ensure intuitive user experiences across dashboard interfaces
Cross-team

Collaboration:

Work with UI (Angular), API (Node.js), AWS Lambda, and infrastructure teams
Required Experience:
7+ years full-stack development with leadership experience
Strong background in Node.js/JavaScript, Angular, and AWS serverless architecture
Frontend Expertise:
Proven experience in modern UI/UX development with focus on data visualization and dashboard design
Analytics Development:
Proven expertise in building data-driven applications and interactive dashboards
Business Intelligence:

Experience with BI tools (Quick Sight preferred, but Tableau, Power BI, or similar acceptable)

Experience with Dynamo

DB, Athena, Lambda functions, AWS Glue, and AWS data services
Knowledge of Quick Sight/SPICE optimization and data refresh strategies
Proven expertise in query optimization and caching strategies
Experience scaling applications under increasing complexity
Proven track record establishing robust development workflows and team practices
Ability to mentor developers while delivering hands-on technical work
Immediate Impact Areas:
Code review and architectural guidance for multi-component system (UI/API/Lambda)
Development workflow improvements to reduce delivery risk
Performance optimization of data queries and dashboard rendering
Analytics Enhancement:
Improve dashboard performance and expand reporting capabilities
Scalability planning for growing compliance platform demands
