Software Engineer, Backend Developer, Full Stack Developer

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Software Engineer in Rockville, MD.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality software applications
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code
• Apply object‑oriented programming principles and best practices
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product, design, QA)
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues
• Contribute to system design and technical decision‑making
• Take ownership of features from development through deployment
• Continuously learn and improve technical skills

• Proven experience building high‑quality, well‑designed software
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented programming
• Experience with Java (preferred) or C++
• Experience with Angular (preferred) or React
• Full‑stack experience, or backend‑focused engineer willing to learn frontend

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
