Child Welfare Services is committed to the safety, wellbeing and permanency of children in Montgomery County. The agency works in collaboration with families and community partners to build, strengthen and support stable family life. Child Welfare Services is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, caring, knowledgeable and experienced individual to provide clinical supervision and oversight to 7-8 clinically licensed social workers and case workers who manage the public resource, kinship and ICPC homes as well as locate placements for all children (0
-21) who come into out of home care in Montgomery County.
The Resource Homes Section is responsible for the licensure and maintenance of all foster, relative, guardian and adoptive providers for Montgomery County Child Welfare Services.
Responsibilities- This employee will be the policy authority for licensing and management of resource homes.
- This position requires the ability to oversee requirements, negotiate and monitor contracts, develop budget plans and monitor expenditures related to retention and respite services.
- Attain and maintain resource homes; assure compliance with annual licensure; complete pre-adoptive paperwork and court reports; complete all requests for assessment by ICPC (Interstate Compact); monitor licensing contractors; develop and implement Resource Retention Plan (including annual press events).
- FTDM oversight is also a responsibility which includes ensuring that all required documents are maintained so that facilitators are completing their assigned activities and that any required reporting is completed timely.
- This position will also oversee Kinship Navigator and Family Finding/Absent Parent Locator positions which are critical components of the Family Matters work. Kinship Navigator works with kin to access services and supports to maintain the minor kin in their homes while the Family Finding/Absent Parent Locator works to identify relatives and kin who might be able to be a placement and/or permanency resource for children already in care.
- This position will provide support and guidance to these workers in completing the responsibilities of their positions.
- Ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office.
- Will need to operate a motor vehicle to transport children, supplies, and equipment, to other locations and would require the need to lift and carry, and manage stairs with children, equipment, and supplies.
