We are assisting a client with hiring a Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician for their team in Rockville, MD.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Nicet level certification for VA
- This is a service-oriented job, no installation experience required.
- They do quarterly fire sprinkler service and annual inspections.
- No more than 3-point on license.
- They will get company vehicle, and the schedule will be built 1-2 weeks out.
- They must be ready to drive 1 to 1.5 drive away from home.
- $600/ year reimbursement phone.
- This is a large team with 23 technicians.
- They work 40-45 hours/week.
- On call rotation 2 tech/week.
- They may get rotation in every 10-12 weeks rotation.
- Holiday double time.
- When on rotation they do 50 hrs/week.

The company is headquartered in Rockville, MD and is responsible for the design, installation, inspection, and repair services for fire protection and security systems. The company specializes in sprinkler systems, fire pumps, fire extinguishers, fire alarm and monitoring services, wet & dry chemical suppression systems, clean agent and inert gas systems, special hazards systems, marine fire suppression systems, access control, burglar alarms, and video surveillance (CCTV).
We have an extensive customer base performing inspection, installation, and repair services for over 50,000 customers. Our company is continually growing through its internal sales.
- Conduct service calls, performing onsite emergency troubleshooting and repairs of customer fire sprinkler systems, identifying code issues and non-conformance issues.
- Interpret and apply NFPA 25 codes during testing and inspections.
- Become or currently NICET certified in inspection and testing of water based systems.
- Perform fire pump flow tests preferred, but not required.
- Prepare accurate, detailed and timely service tickets and reports.
- Communicate with customers to explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
- A current valid driver's license with 3 or less points is required.
- Three years of licensed driving experience is required.
- Two or more years inspecting and repairing fire sprinkler systems.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes.
- Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12ft and on lifts.
- Able to lift up to 70lbs, to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
- Well organized and able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.
- Pay is hourly and is negotiable dependent on candidate experience.
- Any hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am are paid at the time-and-a-half rate for every day of the week.
- Paid a 4‑hour minimum at the time-and-a-half rate for emergency service calls.
- Paid a 4‑hour minimum at the double time rate for emergency services calls on recognized holidays, in addition to 8 hours of holiday pay at the regular rate.
