What you bring
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of employment with NLCS.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Knowledge, experience, and proficiency with COMAR, Office of Health Care Quality, and CMS guidelines a plus.
  • Knowledge of Geriatric Nursing Assistant and Licensed/Registered Nurse scope of practice.
  • Experience in geriatric and/or subacute nursing, including medication and treatment administration, and unit and/or house supervision.
  • Experience with computer‑based electronic medical records required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to partner, communicate, coach, and counsel direct report team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
What you’ll do
  • Ensure the highest degree of quality resident care is delivered and maintained at all times.
  • Provide strong supervision, performance management, leadership, and coaching for nursing staff.
  • Train and onboard nursing team members, ensuring they understand and uphold NLCS standards of service excellence and nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify opportunities to improve resident care and implement appropriate changes.
  • Monitor staffing, unit activities, and acuity; work with the Staffing Coordinator, ADON, and Care Coaches to ensure safe and appropriate coverage.
  • Conduct regular rounds on assigned units to monitor resident activity, care quality, and overall environment, including rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Verify care activity and documentation to ensure nursing care is provided according to physician orders, care plans, standards, and facility policies.
  • Ensure safe, accurate medication administration consistent with nursing standards and NLCS procedures.
  • Review and support accurate completion of resident assessments, MDS, and individualized plans of care; participate in and/or direct care plan conferences.
  • Review and maintain infection control, wound, lab, and related logs to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
  • Hold regular coaching conversations and conduct stay interviews with team members to build engagement, retention, and accountability.
