Overview
Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for its Surgery Department. The role embraces the mission to extend God's care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
Responsibilities- Perform daily rounds and post‑operative visits, documenting appropriately and communicating with attending.
- Assist in surgeries, including pre/post‑operative setup and documentation for admission/discharge orders and brief operative notes.
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ medical and physical status, including history and physicals, to develop treatment plans.
- Coordinate with other departments and consultants for inpatient care and discharge planning.
- Coordinate service recovery to ensure positive patient experience and clinical excellence.
- Order and interpret patient testing such as lab work and imaging, order treatments or follow‑up based on results.
- Perform therapeutic/corrective measures and small procedures (drain removal, suture placement, uterine evacuation, dressing changes).
- Provide patients, families, and nursing staff with education, counseling, and discharge instructions/expectations.
- BS in Physician Assistant studies.
- Two years surgical experience or surgical residency preferred.
- NCCPA certification;
Maryland State PA license, CNS, DEA, BLS/ACLS. - Meet credentialing requirements for Medical staff, including background check.
Full‑time, rotating schedule. Weekends, nights, holidays required. OR, OB, and floor coverage required.
CompensationPay Range: $50.80 – $76.20 per hour.
