Job Summary
Shady Grove Medical Center at Adventist Health Care seeks an experienced Education Specialist for our Perioperative Unit department to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
Responsibilities- Report directly to the Director of Professional Development and Practice.
- Facilitate professional development and lifelong learning activities for nurses to enhance their professional competence and role performance.
- Manage overall professional development programs, provide relevant education to nurses, maintain and enhance clinical competence, foster a positive outlook on lifelong learning, direct the development of educational activities, and plan programs that increase breadth and depth of nurses’ knowledge.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times and serve as an integral part of the nursing leadership team, representing the department at all levels of the organization.
- BSN required, MSN preferred.
- Valid Maryland RN license required.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Three years of perioperative experience; hospital experience preferred.
- One year of nursing education and/or staff development preferred.
Full time; day shift position.
36 hours per week, hours flex to meet the educational needs of the surgical department.
CompensationPay Range: $77,313.60 - $
If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem with a fixed rate, salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as: United States of America (Exempt)
