LOCATION
Our RN Supervisors are based at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, located at 6121 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland, the largest nursing home in the mid-Atlantic region. Our long-term care team is dedicated to delivering award-winning quality and person-centered care and promoting the dignity of older adults.
OUR RN SUPERVISOR POSITION
The primary purpose of the RN Shift Supervisor role at Hebrew Home is to provide nursing care to the residents (this includes direct care and passing medications) and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical nurses and geriatric nursing assistants. Guidance provided by the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing.
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in the long-term care facility.
- Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures
- Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
- Make recommendations for revisions to the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc.
- Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
- Ensure that all unit personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
- Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors and government agencies
- Coordinate PI activities for assigned shifts.
Every other Saturday and Sunday 7p-7a
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved RN program
- Must have a valid Maryland or compact state nursing license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in long term care or assisted living is preferred.
