Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team on-site in Rockville, MD
. The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in sustaining secure, reliable, and forward-looking infrastructure operations that support HRSA’s mission. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining hosting services, network systems, security platforms, server environments, identity and access solutions, and Tier II operational support across both Azure and on‑premises environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7x365 infrastructure operations support, including participation in an on‑call rotation.
• Manage and maintain a hybrid Azure and on‑premises environment, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with technical teams to fulfill all duties outlined in the Statement of Work, including Network Operations, Security, DNS/DHCP, VOIP, Identity and Access Management, and Server Administration.
• Monitor system dashboards and tools to identify patterns, issues, and potential service‑impacting events before they affect users.
• Recommend enhancements to operational processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce long‑term costs.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support IT infrastructure hardware and software components.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant technical experience.
• 6+ years of experience managing hybrid Azure/on‑premises application hosting environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Strong background in network infrastructure operations, Azure networking, system administration, patching, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance.
• Proficiency in performance monitoring/tuning and technologies such as Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Citrix, VPN solutions, and PKI.
• Ability to support a 24x7x365 operational model, including on‑call duties, with the capability to respond to the Rockville or Sterling data centers.

Compensation:

• Pay Range:$120,000-$150,000
