The Workday developer will do dev/testing/analysis within Workday. We deal with all AP/AR across client and support 30+ lines of business
Workday HR side won’t work; looking for Workday Financial experience
Must have’s:
- Can do testing, analysis, prod support as well
Nice to have’s:
- Java, AWS exposure (we have integrations with AWS)
We are seeking an experienced Workday Financial Developer to join a high-impact finance technology team supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable across 30+ lines of business
. This role is hands-on and end-to-end—covering development, analysis, testing, and production support within Workday Financials
.
Note: This role is Workday Financials–focused
. Candidates with only Workday HCM/HR experience will not be considered.
- Design, configure, and support Workday Financials solutions across AP/AR, Billing, Cash Management, Revenue Management, and Banking
- Develop and maintain Workday reports (Simple, Advanced, Matrix) and calculated fields
- Support customer contracts, invoicing, billing schedules, and revenue recognition
- Perform business analysis
, requirements gathering, and translate needs into Workday configurations - Build and maintain end-to-end business processes
, including approval workflows - Support testing, regression testing, and production support
- Analyze and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis
, and document findings - Participate in Workday bi-annual releases
, reviewing release notes and validating impacts - Partner with Workday consultants and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and implement best practices
- Review roadmap items and advise on Workday best practices and optimizations
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members
- Prepare and present status updates to stakeholders
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong experience across AP / AR / Billing / Cash Management / Revenue Management
- Ability to perform development, testing, analysis, and production support
- Experience building Workday reports and calculated fields
- Solid understanding of Workday Financial business processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-business environment
- Java or AWS exposure (integrations with AWS)
- Workday test automation experience (
Kainos
) - Experience with Vertex
- Familiarity with JAMS Job Scheduler
- JIRA and JQL experience
- Workday Financials configuration and lifecycle support
- Workday Security (Role-Based & User-Based security groups)
- Debugging and resolving Workday access and security issues
- Regression testing and SLA impact analysis
- Documentation and RCA creation
- A self-starter who can work independently
- Someone who enjoys owning problems end-to-end
- Strong analytical thinker with attention to detail
- Team-oriented professional who communicates clearly and confidently
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite (Rockville preferred, Tysons acceptable)
