Base pay range

$65.00/hr - $72.00/hr

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a IAM Security Engineer (GCP) for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD.

Candidate must be in the DMV area.

This role is hybrid (2 days/week Oniste until September; 3 days/week Onsite starting September).

Responsibilities :

• IAM Architecture:
  Help design, implement, and maintain permissions within Google Cloud Platform and related IAM components, including federated identity providers, identity governance, role based access controls (RBAC), and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
• Security Monitoring and Response:
  Monitor IAM activities in Google Cloud Platform, analyze security logs, and investigate security incidents to detect and mitigate potential threats or unauthorized access attempts.
• Access Control Policies:
  Define and enforce access control policies and entitlements across GCP resources, ensuring adherence to least privilege principles and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Identity Federation:
  Establish federated identity relationships with external identity providers to enable single sign-on (SSO) and seamless access to cloud and on-premises resources.
• Automation and Orchestration:
  Develop scripts, templates, or automation workflows to streamline IAM processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
  Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and compliance to align IAM initiatives with business goals a foster a culture of security awareness and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Engineer/Google Cloud Security Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)) are a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, IAM, or a related field
• Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform services and their permissions schema with IAM/PAM.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Power Shell, Python) for automation and orchestration of IAM tasks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
